Help with Sepmeyer ratios

I have some questions about the application of Sepmeyer ratios to my design. Since the ratios specify height, width, and length it seems like they would be rectangle shapes, and a lot of design info explains that this is a no no. So how do I do it? Do I make one corner perpendicular and the other two walls at angles? Or do I calculate what the square footage would be and make a shape that has the same square footage? My studio is 23´2" x 15´ and is 8´7" tall. So... I have calculated that within my total square footage I should be able to fit two good rooms in, plus leftovers for a booth or two. But... my restriction is that there is a column 7´ from one of the short walls, directly in the middle. My entry door is on the corner of the front 23´ wall. How much can I change the shape of these Sepmeyer ratio´d rooms? (from rectangle to something not rectangle) thanks, josh
the hard boundary walls, floor, and ceiling will define the majority of room behavior in terms of modes and isolation. once you decide on sizes of rooms, you can then use treatment walls to create the nice angles and bass trapping you'll want/need. so it sounds like one target could be a 7'x 15'x 8'7" booth with the remainder being a nice sized control room. might need to adjust a bit to get decent ratios but the pillar in the middle could be buried in a wall or on a wall as needed.

Guilfo gave great advice already. Where did you get that rectangles are to avoided? Confused an cold in Canada, Andre
