So, I'm installing a "floating floor" of 1 inch 703 with 2 layers of OSB on top of the 703 (thank you Rod Gervais) using 3 tubes of GreenGlue on the back of the 2nd layer of OSB when the end cap of a tube of GreenGlue falls out and GreenGlue goes all over my pants and on the floor. What a mess!
Not to waste the expensive GreenGlue I took a piece of cardboard and 'squeegeed' it on the floor in the 4 x 8 space where a layer of OSB was to go.
Doing it this way I found I could use only 2 tubes of GreenGlue and get FAR more even coverage than using 3 tubes and randomly applying it the the back of the 4 x 8 sheet as is recommended by GreenGlue website. (There is something satisfying of seeing GreenGlue ooze out all around the edges of the 4 x 8 sheet when applying the screws.)
I have had the occasion to break apart 2 layers if OSB after applying GreenGlue as is suggested by their website and discovered that there were numerous "voids" where the GreenGlue did <not> spread.
Of course, this is much easier for doing floors as opposed to walls but it might be useful/economic for some of you using/considering GreenGlue.
By the way, GreenGlue works very well in my experience.

Interesting. I seem to recall reading that GG originally came in tubs, but due to the mess and difficulty of application this way, they changed to caulking-style tubes.
I don't even want to imagine applying green glue from a tub. That stuff is like the devils own snot.
Devil's snot is an appropriate metaphore, but I'll take this "snot" over tar seal for driveways, silicone caulking and whatever else that isn't water soluable as GG is.
I too had a screw up that I grabbed a 1/3'' thick peice of plywood and used it as a trowell to put the glue back under the peice I was pressing against the wall.
From the get go with the greenglue I've wondered whether "no need to use a trowel was if the substance performed better when it didn't or if it was written to have a more friendly (non stick) interaction with the customer base so more people would use it or something.
It would seem to me that the optimum application would be to have a trowell fed with an ample amount of GG and have it spread evenly.
I have done a breif search this morning, but have not found much info.
