Hello Everyone! I feel very happy that this community exists. I was very lucky to find such a rich resource center about acoustics, studio design, recording, etc... Thank you John Sayers and friends!
Now to the subject:
I live in the 8th floor of a apartment in São Paulo, Brazil.
I intend to make a flexible control room and tracking space to record mostly jazz and brazilian music, acoustic nylon guitar, percussions, voice and eventualy woodwinds, brass, double bass, etc.. Maaaybe if possible some drums... (i can dream right)
The main thing is to be able to record with a resonable quality, mostly with overdubs in the case of acoustic instruments. like a pre-production site that I could try out some arrangements. I dont require a control room isolated from a studio room. It could be a room that could change according to the need. The room should have three functions (each one at a time, no need to do the functions simultanealy):
1. A mixing room.
2. A tracking and recording room
3. A bedroom for me to sleep on and watch tv
As this approuch would'nt be challenging enough, there are other problems. This room has a balcony to the exterior, and two huge sliding glass doors.I have build my self these doors with double glass, to replace the original doors. They have isolated some of the exterior noise (much much much noise, they are constructing a subway right in front of the building). I intend to to install a second pair of these doors when possible.
Another thing is that i have a built-in wood wardrobe/shelf thing, that i need in order to store my clothes and equipament.
I want to replace the doors of this wardrobe wall with 4 inch fiber glass bass traps, and making the doors air tight. The clothes and other stuff inside would act as good absorvers. The wardrobe has 50 cm of depth, a nice distance between the wall and the bass trap.
The monitors could be set in a way that they could be stored (hinges) when the room is not in the mixing mode. The bed could folded to the wall when the room is not in bedroom mode, with the 30 cm depth matress acting like a absorver.
There could be several layers of curtains to prevent the reflections from the huge glass wall (the slidind doors). The wardrobe could have some doors with wood slaps to get some highs reflection.
A second entrance door could be installed.
The ceiling could have some clouds absorvers, as long as the upper doors in the wardrobe could be opened.
I think of revesting the opposing wall of the wardorbe with stones to get some diffuse sound.
These are only ideas. I know that the situation is tough, and thats why i need as much help as you guys can give me! thank you

Does any one have any opinion about this situation?
Do you guys think that the idea of using basstraps as door to the wardrobe is going to work?
Any clue on how to work out around the assymetry of the room caused by the glass doors?
(did i say something wrong in my original post? please, i need help, my vacation is almost over and it would be the time to built my self every thing)
you could use the front wardrobe as bass trap (more correctly broadband), i would probably put something hard over a portion of it in the middle to add some live end - perhaps some stone or wood slats. and as far as the door, if the side nearest the mix position is the fixed portion, i'd just put some absorbers over it to match to opposite wall (based on first reflection points), otherwise maybe a heavy drape will help during mix sessions.
Gullfo, thank you very much for your reply, i´ve been reading your replys for almost a year now. As soon as my home studio project starts I will keep posting,
Grateful, fulvio
