Hello!
I'm 15-year-old boy from Valtimo, east Finland. I have been reading this site for a year now. Me and my parents have been planning a place for me where I can make my music.
I dont need to record any big instruments, just vocals, maybe guitar and maybe someday a little drumset. I'd like to have a control room and an iso booth.
There is a small storage in the garage and it should stay there where it is now. Also the door of storage should stay where it is. The floor is concrete.
The place for studio is 4 meters x 3,8 meters. I'd like to get the drawings with meters (measurements) if possibly.
I hope you understood something about this, my english is crappy.

There are some plannings I made.

That is based on some Gulfo's plan. I like it but what do you think?
Hi,
I think both would work, just try to imagine yourself in the studio an think what would work best for you and also what work you need to do to make the space.
Here's another idea based on John's small studio design along with the sketch up for anyone else to play about with.
Cheers
Alan
i agree with medboyle - use all the space you can. it can get cramped feeling very quickly...
Thank you very much. That plan looks pretty good but I've been also thinking to build a big control room and use the storage for vocals.
Thank you!
I modified that Medboyle's plan a bit. Now its more symmetrial and there are two doors into booth which i need. I'll put there a window and a door between CR and booth.
My budget is so limited that I'm not going to use a sliding glassdoor.
Can I build it this way?
I thought more about to build a big CR and record vocals in the storage and I think it would work best for me.
I made some plannings but I'm not sure about the angled walls. I mean the side walls. Are they angled enough?
Again the pictures are behind this link.

I cleaned the garage today and made the final plans. I use the storage for vocals and build a big control room. I'll post the plan soon and we start the construction tomorrow.
cheers :D
remember to post lots of photos into the construction forum!
Sure... Just need to find a free image host first.
Aloha and welcome to the forum,
If you keep your images down to 700 pixels wide, you can upload them directly from your computer to the forum...with no need for an image host middleman.
Looking forward to your build.
Aloha 8)
Thanks Kendale!
I could not start the construction today. This week is still planning etc.
Cheers :D
As Kendale mentioned: you can upload 5 (or 6?) pix per post here on this forum (the forum will act as the image host) But, you might wanna check out www.imageshack.us for a great free image hostSure... Just need to find a free image host first.

Thanks Ro!
One question about the slat resonators. How do they work if I use only one type of slats? If I put there only 20mm x 100mm slats?
