Hey guys,
I have been reading this forum on and off for a while but until now I have seen no reason to post. Firstly I have done my best to research room acoustics but I have some questions that directly relate to the weird shape of my room and the fact that I have quite high ceilings at 3m or nearly 10 feet
Now on my desk there I have a pair of KRK Rokit 8s - In hindsight I think an 8" speaker is probably a bit large for the size of my room
I produce electronic music, it is very rare that I record a live instrument.
The walls surrounding the top and right walls are brick
Sound isolation isnt a big deal, my primary goal is to achieve the best sound so when I take it to the studio I use I don't have to waste too much time
So my questions:
Firstly is this room to strange of a shape to work with?
What sort of acoustic treatment do you think would be best for this room shape? What sort of treatment will achieve the best results?
I was thinking of broad band absorption in as many corners as possible
Does my bed act as a bass trap of some sort? I understand that bass traps are normally placed in corners so if this doesn't act as one, what are the alternatives for a room such as this?
In a room such as this, is it viable to put my krk rokit 8s on speaker stands?
Does the high ceiling of 3m/10ft affect everything in a bad or good way?
Do the 3 windows affect things in bad or good way?
If you guys need any further information please ask and thankyou to anyone who takes the time to answer my questions.
Here is the design of my room

since the room is mostly symmetrical, put the monitors on either side of the desk facing the windows. add porous absorbers on first reflection points on side walls and ceiling, and the rear wall.
