Hello
I'm french and if I can read the english, mine is not really good.
I'm not sure that it is the right place to post my question. So, if it is not, I of course agree that a moderator move it, if I can fin dit again.
Unfortunately whe don't get a such forum like this in France.
So I try on yours.
OK, so first, a little joke.

You see this bear, it's me. He hates noise, but he his the one that most make.
He is awakened by a hiss, but not by a firework.
I would like to build my own studio. I will start from nothing. So I will not have to take care of the size of th room, the height of the ceiling, the thickness of the existing walls or their materials, because there is nothing today. If I need to build a wall somewher, i twill be built, if the ceiling need to be more high in one room, it will be.
When I will be sure of capacity (size, insulation…) of the complex, I will do everithing that will be necessary to build it.
But now, here is the first problem :
I want a very efficient isulation. I want that no noise can't be heard on the outside of the studio, but also between the different room of the studio.
I've read that you want a lot of details of the project of anyone that post a question, but I've not a lot to say, I start from nothing.
I know what I want and don't want, but that's all…
And for now, the only thing that I want is to find a way to make a powerful insulation.
To start, I just want to think about that. The rest (size and form of the rooms, acoustic treatment…) will be studied later.
So I've read all the things that i've found (in french). I've also seen the STC chart on the SAE site. It seems that the most eficient insulation that can be reached is 64 dB with a thickness of 150 mm. (I will give all sizes it meters, but you can give yours un inch, just say it to make no mistakes…)
I think that 64 dB is not enough to reach my goal. Just imagine the sound level that cant be made by a metal drumer, and which frequency will need to be insulated.
I think that 80 dB at 60 Hz will be the min.
So I've started to search about solutions. And I've found the double leaf system.
I've anderstood that the more heavy are the leafs, the more insulation can be provided.
I've also anderstood that with a larger air cavity, the resonance will be low.
So I'm thinking that is possible to build something win two wall very heavy, like concret, and without nothing else then air. In compensation, I'm ready to lose a lot of space (not in every rooms of course, but around), and time to construct the result.
When I will know the thickness of every wall, I shall be able to think about the size of every thing, even doors, aeration, etc, for wich I've already think about, but solutions will all depend of the size of the walls. For now, just think about a box in another box.
The target is to have a greater insulation with the same money, or much, but with a loss of space and time, and not to have to use wood and wool of anithing.
So what do you think about it.
Thanks a lot.
How to have an higher sound-stopping power ?

You said "insulation " you meant "isolation."
Do you have a picture of the land you want to put this building on? There are going to be physical geographical boundaries that determine where this structure fits in.
Hello.
No land for today.
I keep on searching afterwards.
And because I've time, I can use it to think about the studio design and the way to integrate it at my home plan.
For the time, I'm just thinking about the way to obtain a good isolation (thanks).
The design, the size, will be treated after.
Just imagine that you work for the STC, and you try to find something that can be more efficient to stop the noise, regardless of any consideration of use in a concrete project. (Wow, it is the same word to say real and the sing wich is made from sand and gravel. I want to say real in this sentence).
So it isn't useful, for now, to ask about the use I will want to make with it. It will be useful to me to just think about only the isolation to start.
It took me one hour (really) to write my first post in a quite good english (I hope so).
So please, to sart, just think about the isolation, because I can have answers for almost all the problem that can be found, but not for this one.
Thanks again.
French, for the many hundreds of thousands of dollars you will be spending to try to acheive your goals here - your best bet would be to hire Eric Desart to design your isolation systems. I can promise you that you literally have no clue what it is you are asking for when you speak of isolation values of 80dB @ 60 Hz. I could easily budget over 1/4 of a million dollars for design of a studio of the nature of which you speak - and every penny of it well spent. Please believe me - this is not the sort of thing that you want to sort out over the internet - so much of it can be be site speific - and in the end you will probably end up with huge mechanical spring systems floating thick concrete rooms = and all of this before you can even begin to construct your studio rooms - of course with all of the additional challenges that go along with dealing with room finishes and treatments as a part of the design with all of this additional LF locked into the room. Eric really is the man you need to speak with on this - and no matter what he charges you - it will be money well spent. Ask for him at forum.studiotips.com Good luck, RodFor the time, I'm just thinking about the way to obtain a good isolation (thanks). The design, the size, will be treated after.
Hello.
I know who is Eric Desart. He is one of the two guy that have made the Galaxy studio in Belgium.

Wher do you think I've found the idea that concrete was a good idea ?
Some people has already said to me to contact an engineer.
How many can it cost ?
The forum that you speak about, is it also for handy man, or I can prepare my botom to be kicked ?
Thanks again.
