Hi all, First of all excuse my english as I'm french... I've been reading this great forum for a long time now, but I 've just decided to register to be able to post... I'm about to finish my project studio, only one thing left to do: Correct a little flutter echo in both control room and vocalbooth with roof« cloud pannels ». I need your advice for that... I was thinking about a wood frame, fill with woodrock cover with cloths but what size should it be? What distance from the roof? By the way here is a summary of the work already done, I really wanted to thanks everybody for all the good advice and informations available here ...
So as you can see my first studio became too small: http://images3.hiboox.com/vignettes/0508/9k3uta3s.jpg So I decided to move for a bigger house and to build my own project studio in a 20m² room at the first floor. http://images3.hiboox.com/vignettes/0508/nnqujcl5.jpg I began by changing the windows: http://images3.hiboox.com/vignettes/0508/6r7yy5e2.jpg Floatting floor: http://images3.hiboox.com/vignettes/0508/oqn0aib3.jpg PLACOPLATRE Still Prim 100: Box in the box (structure) http://images3.hiboox.com/vignettes/0508/l1l1n28q.jpg http://images3.hiboox.com/vignettes/0508/4vj3ybp7.jpg http://images3.hiboox.com/vignettes/0508/zwh9yufu.jpg http://images3.hiboox.com/vignettes/0508/7d6c3mtn.jpg http://images3.hiboox.com/vignettes/0508/rysdytu3.jpg Electric wiring http://images3.hiboox.com/vignettes/0508/xyh7u2hk.jpg Doors http://images3.hiboox.com/vignettes/0508/sss88v46.jpg http://images3.hiboox.com/vignettes/0508/w09hrtzt.jpg « Noiseless » aeration: http://images3.hiboox.com/vignettes/0508/45327ruo.jpg The mixing desk and the equipement arrived: http://images3.hiboox.com/vignettes/0508/vvwnzppi.jpg http://images3.hiboox.com/vignettes/0508/fxsc4ybg.jpg for the first test: http://images3.hiboox.com/vignettes/0508/txubjym5.jpg

Wow! Nice improvement, good selection of gear (love the console). I'd probably done the layout different, trying to go for a more symetrical position for mixing. That corner where you have the softwarecontrolled "ms-20" would possibly be more symmetrical and all, but if it works for you and you're happy I won't say anything more about it. a
Thanks AndreasB :) Concerning the console , it's a 80's studer serie 900 that really sound amazing! Since the photographs I have done some work on It, a big clean Up and some "aesthetics" improvement. For the symetrical position Due to both the size and the form of the room I was really restricted... But as far as I'm concerned it's more a production studio than a mixing one Furthermore as I often work with a friend of mine, the layout is perfect for that. by the way no ideas concerning my roof panel? :D
