I have no idea if it is a Tool song. I actually like Tool, though I don't own any albums since the first one. The misunderstanding is, calling someone a tool in the US is an insult. Also, most people I know DON'T like Tool, and usually a reference to "that kind of music" is an insult about crap music. Sorry I misinterpreted your typo. But back to my question here, since I feet it is relevant to the discussion in this thread. I'm getting the impression that in a room with a soft ceiling and appropriate absorbers on the walls, a cement (or other hard surface) floor is recommended for recording and having that "live" sound, as opposed to a carpeted floor. What about a short pile carpet with no padding? Or perhaps some of that rubber flooring tile used in gyms and garages (it's pretty dense, so it seems it would be reflective enough). Would that work? I'm just considering how hard standing on a cement floor is and attempting to find a compromise.since your profile points me to "rosetta stone" studio (which is a TOOL song) and there I find other TOOL related titles (APC songs etc). oh well, I could be wrong :(
Why hardwood floors?
