Let me start by saying hello everyone and this is one of the best forums i ever been on .. But to the point, After numerous times of startin to build studios and never finishing im proud to say im finally finishing a studio!! :D I have been doing a lot of reading and im going to build my studio in my bedroom! here are my measurements W: 11ft 5in L : 11ft 4in H: 6ft 10in but an annoying part of the room is on both sides hte walls are slanted and it goes up to 4ft 10in from the floor then slants 3ft 2in so the ceiling is H: 6ft 10 inches only at the measurements of W: 6ft 11in and L: 11ft 4in SORRY IF THAT IS CONFUSING :? My idea sence it is going to be my bedroom is to, 1. Have a Well insulated booth sence i have the Neuman tlm 103 mic 2. My Bed 3. Desk for production the Measurements of the booth is going to be W: 4ft 8 1/2 in L: 5ft 8 1/2 in and the wall on the right is the slanted one but there will be space for the person to stand strait  Now im going to remove all the sheet rock and carpet and take out the exciting closet to for the room the reason for removing all the sheet rock is because the cheap bastard who had the house b4 never insulated the room so it gets COLD!! in there So what im gunna do is insulate the walls and sheet rock them and then for the booth i was planning on uisng the QUIET BATT ACOUSTIC THERMAL INSULATION -http://www.soundprooffoam.com/quiet-batt-insulation.html- and then add 2 Layers of sheet rock on both sides and on the inside of the booth use acoustic foam but im gunna make a design so it doesnt look plain! now were im stuck at is 1. not sure what to do for doors 2. not sure about how to get the cables in the booth but keep the booth soundproof 3. What to use for window till i can save up money for an acoustical window 4 The Vents ( I dont want any1 to pass out on my time) lol 5. Should i have a raised floor for the booth?? Im going to be reading around the forum but this is just my info i wanted to see wa you guys had suggested and Thank you In advance !!! IM REAL EXCITED TO FINALLY FINISH A STUDIO!! also if you guys would like photos of the room im gunna upload them just for you guys to see. Dont mind the mess lol it became a storage room when my sister went to college lol

If you read it - why aren't you obeying it? It is rules of the forum - and if you really want help - then you have to folow the rules........ So perhaps you should read it again - and then follow it - or find a forum with out rules......... Rod
are you really gunna die for answering questions ?

Hai Esko and welcome tho this mighty forum. Rod's kinda cynical I think, and I love it ;) Ofcourse, we want to help you all the way and answer specific questions. BUT, there's always a but eh, you HAVE to do some more research on this forum. There's much good info crammed in here, enough to keep you occupied for a couple 'o days. Some things have been discussed in full length allready. go ahead and absorb the goods, then get ready to design with your newlearned knowledge. Start with the "design" forum. Perhaps some admin could move this thread to the DESIGN section. happy browsing! 8) ps. you HAVE to check them stickies and obey the forum's rules... ;)
The folks around here are very helpful, no worries about that, but folks come on here with the same exact questions every time, and after years of answering the same questions over and over, it gets difficult to keep doing so. Read the stickies, and follow the rules, it is the easiest way, and shows some respect for the folks (professionals, I might add) that are doing this for FREE. You need to do some work on your own, and not expect these folks to do it for you because you are not willing to read the stickies and follow the rules. Life is not about a free lunch, be willing to do the work up front, and then ask for specific help about specific issues. I am guessing you are somewhere between 16 and 19 years old. Am I right?

If you can't (or just won't) put the effort in to do something as simple as let us know where you're from - and the reasons for that are explained in the stickie "Read This Before You Post" - then I don't get real excited about putting in any effort to help you out. You get out of life what you put into it........... Sincerely, Rod
Esko, Don't give up to soon. We're really not bastards here. All we ask is to do some catching up by ye-self. Show some respect, we will too and in no-time you wondered why you never ever visited this might forum before. We're all sound-geeks here, be warned  And, reading your post AND your profile, I can say you haven't really payed attention OR are just confused cuz of all the great info here. I can imagen the last since building a studio ain't yer everyday children's toy. You clearly missed them stickies, esp. this one: http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3231 When yer dunn reading all the info necessary to build a studio/soundroom, you prolly have the answers on yer questions already. While browsing the web, make sure to order a copy of Rod's book, it's a must-have. But, again, you prolly figure that out when reading this forum's content. Now here r sum hints:
1. not sure what to do for doors
What doors, what room, what design.. etc. Read Rod's book and check this forum. There's plenty of examples.
2. not sure about how to get the cables in the booth but keep the booth soundproof
It's all over the board.. 90degr tubes, kit etc. you'll find out.
3. What to use for window till i can save up money for an acoustical window
There's plenty 'o text 'bout that here.. also in Rod's book. Ain't such thing as "acoustical window"
4 The Vents ( I dont want any1 to pass out on my time) lol
Rod's book, info on this board etc. But indeed it's a good point.. passing out ain't cool. (maybe for the youngsters, but not for me)
5. Should i have a raised floor for the booth??
Depending on the current design of the room. I think, yes, you might. hang in there pall.
