I need to make a decision regarding my flooring.
I have a 9x18 isolated concrete slab on grade (installed with no vapor barrier).
I'm trying to decide which flooring to get and how to install it.
Should I get hardwood or engineered hardwood?
Glued down or 'floated' over 1/8" underlayment?
vapor barrier or seal over concrete?
I am being advised against glueing the floor due to the work involved.
Tongue in groove hardwood floated on an underlayment would be the most DIY, obviously...but I don't want to creat any resonance issues. If I got a nice thick hardwood, wouldn't that resonate a lot less than a thin laminate?
Thoughts, suggestions?
Flooring questions: seal? poly? glue? float? etc.

I have gone the engineered hardwood route, which looks great, but the glue-down bit really is a lot of work... more than I expected. But to me, it is a one-time job, and once it is done, I am more concerned about the looks and the sound of the room.
i saw a product that was an underlay/adesive and a damp proof course.
and one the same that s not an adesive. for both types of flooring
I would be more inclined to try the glue over wood- but I have concrete...
looks good doublehelix ;)
