Hey everyone. New to the site and somewhat new to the idea of building a studio. I have Rod's book already on the way. I have just a real general question I am hoping you guys can help me with. I am looking to build a double wall iso drum booth mostly for rehearsal, maybe for recording later on down the road. Dimensions would be somewhere around 8x8x8 range. I live on the bottom floor of a 3 story house. My floor is all hardwood and the ceilings are about 15ft high. Specific dimensions etc have not been thought out yet, I am more just curious about the cost of what something like this may be. I see a lot of people here are building full on studios with a tracking room, mixing room, vocal booth and so on. My plan is much more simple; one drum booth that is as soundproof as I can possibly get it, so I can play at almost any time of the day or night. Any ideas on what this would cost me? Thanks to all, and by the way, this site is amazing!
Drum iso booth costs

It will probable prove to be much more complicated then you may have imagined. As a rule of thumb, any dimension divisible by itself is a poor number to use. And any "cube" shape like an 8X8X8 is to be avoided at all cost. Rectangles are preferred. Golden ratios, as they are referred to, are often the base for developing a rooms wall layout. My plan is much more simple; one drum booth that is as soundproof as I can possibly get it, so I can play at almost any time of the day or night.
