hi crew,
i am writing from italy i have a studio (12'.63/10.99'/8') with amek 2500 console,pro tool,urei comp,ns 10 monitors and a spectacular deaf anchor that is sinking as acoustical treatment.this amazing work was been plan by an italian amazing sound designer (after this work changed his life and he 's becomed an anchor designer).i spend a lot of money and my control room plays as a rollercoaster with mickey mouse that is waiting for me at the end of the game.now i am working on my own cd that will be mixed probabily at steve vai mothership studio so i must record my tracks in the best way and i am really very very worry because this anchor engineer is considered the best sound designer in this country.so i wanna solve my situation first as possible because my work is blocked.
so what have i do?which kind of project(lede maybe not 'couse the room is too small,rfz,ess or.....)?

i don't wanna loose other money i wanna spend in the best way.

out of curiousity, where in Italy are you from?
I'm far from an acoustic expert, but I'm curious about your "boat anchor"

i let a private message for you,
but this is the built of this spectacular mickey mouse anchor.
3' bass traps for each corner build with 1/2'' playwood and full of fiberglass.
2'' of fiber glass in the front wall (6.3' x 7)
2'' of cork for the left wall
1/4 '' of cork for the rear wall
and the cherry on top a unabeleavle plywood riflector built with 4''/2''/1'' etc over my head on the cealing so i mix with my left hand on the console and my right hand grasps a tommy gun to threaten the riflector so in this way it can't fall down on my head (8' x 5') and a mix the hospital nurse if i will be lucky.
that's all
the sound is amazig as an anchor and the frequency measurements tests of signals are a rollercoaster with donald duck that is the ice cream man at the and of the race.

Alessandro, you're right - the "reflector" over your head has to go, first of all. Your room is too small for ANY kind of diffusion panels, all they can do is make a good set of speakers sound crappy.

What type of fiberglas are you talking about, is it the stiff board kind or the fluffy, softer kind?

Are there windows in this room, if so where?

If it's possible, could you draw a basic floor plan with windows, doors, console, speakers, any other large pieces included? That would make it easier to discuss this.

If nothing else, at least throw away the evil plywood monstrosity that's over your head - you'll probably end up replacing it with 2" rigid fiberglas, spaced off the ceiling by a few inches, so leave any hardware for hanging things... Steve
