Wiring: need some advice

Hi guys - I would really appreciate some input on this one...

I was told by an acoustician that for audio, basically what I would need is an (independent) circuit that is grounded and shielded. He also told me that I will have to calculate the total watt requirement of my equipment.

What I’ll be using is:
2 compressors: 2x16 watts
Preamp: 16watts
2 converters: 2x16 watts
2 active nearfield speakers: (200 Watt??) Behringer Truth 2031a
COMPUTER (with my DAW) ( I have no idea how many watts…?)

I have a couple questions:

1) For the above, do I need 1 or 2 circuits?
2) Do I place the computer on the same circuit or is it supposed to be on a separate one?
3) Is there anything else I should think/know about?

(basically i want to avoid ending up with issues like hum, etc...)

Thanks in advance,

mark

i think one 15 amp circuit should be enough. a 15 amp circuit has about 1650 watts @ 110vac.

I agree with Glen on this... for your listed equipment, 1 - 15A circuit will be lots. If you do find the need to add another circuit, be sure to tell the electrician to pull it from the same panel *AND* the same power "leg" (the electrician will understand). This will assure that both circuits are "in phase"
