RFI/EMI Testing needed for new recording studio site

Post by Plus4dB »

I am overseeing the construction of a new facility in the NYC area. I would like to test for radio frequency, electro-magnetic, and any other interference that may be there in order to find out if the wiring, especially the microphone lines, is going to be adequate.
Currently, the lines from the Live Room and Iso Rooms are run to the Control Room (to be terminated to TT patchbays) but no equipment is installed and none of the Control Room or Machine Room wiring is complete.
Does anyone know of; A) An individual or company who offers this service or; B) A valid way to test for this with typical, off-the-shelf type test equipment? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

this may help as they list some folks in NY with on-site services.

Rod may have a better recommendation.

if you were to try to do it yourself you'd need some radio detection equipment etc which could probably be rented but your probably better off finding an environment testing company that specializes or does EMC/RFI testing and perhaps have the air quality checked as well...
