Boral Holy grail (australia)

I just discovered that Boral in Australia have released a "Home Cinema" kit,
I Picked up 3 great little brochers, flogging there products but also full of all the info thats spread out over this forum.
From walls construction, resilant channels, ventilation, room ratios and window/wall design.
I assume they also build and design the room aswell.
great pictures and easy to read info.
i can't believe people would go to that much trouble to watch DVD's.
But if you got the money!

Good find - thanks for the pointer. Had a brief look and it looks very good.

They have some very questionable designs shown in there - 3 leaf systems all over the place - even with new construction - sort of makes one wonder...........

Rod - I only noticed 3 instances that could be interpreted as triple leaf.
One is where there is the typical aussie brick veneer design. Unfortunately you can't treat the brick as a skin as it has ventilation holes in it and is open to the roof truss cavity.
The second is where there is a standard weatherboard outer skin. Once again it's not a sealed system and can't really be called a genuine skin.
The third is their method of mounting power outlets which would only create a triple leaf for the small area around the outlet and shouldn't affect the whole isolation too much.
I liked the Cinemaspan ceiling system as it totally disconnects the ceiling from the existing but they don't mention how far it will span.

There was a few things in there I really like.
Luckly the sale guy was a guitarist and had converted his garage. (we're like wildflowers)
They also sell a "fuller" product called FIRESOUND, which I suppose is a fire proof "green glue",Well for gaps at least.
Think it was au$9 a small tube.

Just to clarify,
Fuller Firesound is what's referred to as caulk around here. You can get it from Bunnings in small tubes, and it also comes in 450g sausages.
It's green, but it serves a very different function to green glue.
