Soffit with NS10

Hi for all!
Comparing soffits of the Barefoot and the John Sayers I perceive that
one it presents a box that receives the monitor and the other not
it presents this.
I intend to mount soffit with NS10. I must inside mount soffit with the NS10 of a box or not?
