So I was reading a thread here a while back and someone was describing elastic material vs. visco elastic and they talked about butyl. The thread was about Green glue. Now, I have used the Butyl tape when I worked for Dish Network installing Satellites. I was wondering if anyone has used other visco elastic materials other than green glue between drywall layers? I know where to get butyl cheap and I could put the butyl between layers. Would this yield any positive result? I wouldn't expect it to be green glue but I am curious.

someone over on gearslutz was saying that this product is as good as green glue because its viscoelastic so I'm searching for info now
