Walls

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Walls

Post by Harper »

I'm building a new control room, and I'm ready for the walls to go up.
I know that i have to treat the walls, but was wondering after they go up and the insulation is on, should I drywall everything then treat them. Or do I put the treatment right over insulation?

There are almost as many answers to that as there are words in your question - could you post a drawing of your floorplan, and some info about your situation - neighbors, sound/noise levels, type of building construction, budget, etc?

It's just not possible to give one fixed answer when there are so many variables to consider... Steve
