Hey!

Does anyone knows if there`s some compensation needed to soffit mount a pair of Dynaudio Air 6 monitors?

I`m in the process of planning so I`d like to know my options.

You can check the room in here:

The good Kendal is helping me with some cool ideas.

Thanks!

Are you planning on a subwoofer with those, or just the 6's?

Also, what type music, how loud do you intend to mix, + any other details you can add.

Generally, with 6" woofers in a medium sized room the baffle step boost may just improve bass response - you pretty much have to build it and listen to know. IF it's too much, a simple shelving equalizer at low end can balance things out.

Don't mount your speakers so the centers of the woofers are within 5-6" of the center between floor and ceiling, or you'll lose some low end.

Also, keep the speaker centers AWAY from 1/3 of the widest part of the room's width - if the room's 15 feet wide at the widest point, don't put speakers at 5 and 10 feet. See "are my speakers in a null", in the acoustics forum for more about placement.

Kendale's already given you lots of good advice, I hope this adds to it... Steve
