How to measure area of a segment of a circle

Hi all,

I've got a question about maths i.e. how to measure the area of a wall so you can tell the guy you're buying from how much Illsonic you actually need.

I've included a picture of the wall between my control room and the recording cabin. The recording cabin has an arched ceiling. I'm trying to work out the area shaded in grey. The figures are just rough figures.

Essentially, I've got a segment of a circle which I need to calculate but I don't have the radius.

I'm grateful for any help.

Actually I guess its:

300cm x 27.5 = 8250 minus the roughed in right triangles

if that is truely exparabolic (kind of like you've drawn), then the area

A=2/3 *a*b,

where a=27.5cm is its height and b=300cm is the width.

A=5500 cm2

if it has a constant radius (as you say, "segment of a circle"),

then, (i listed a closed poly in autocad)

A=5536.8 cm2
