Here are photos of how I built my traps. Used Roxul Plus Mineral Board (48"x32"x4"), Pine Boards (5"), Cotton Fabric, Wire Staples, Thin Wire, staples.
Cost of Fabric (for one unit): $3
Cost of Roxul : 6pcs/$50
Hardware: $4
Lumber: Free {My ambitious father harvested some woodland and milled the lumber. He donated the wood to me. Yesterday I went home for a visit and we put the frames together - had to rip and plane the boards - a fun day with Dad} -
Here are the photos, pretty self explanatory.
I did put fabric on both sides. I will have to move these in and out of the space so that's why wire on both sides (to make them more solid) and the double side fabric. Used hospital corners on the fabric to give it a clean look. The first one took me about 2 hours to put together. 5 more to go.

Looks terrific! I'll have to be doing something similar in a few months, so these kinds of pictorals are great to have on file -- very inspiring and confidence lifting!

Thanks, Getting the rest done. I bought a Mastercraft Sure Shot staple gun - one word of advise - DON'T. They suck.
I used wire staples to hold the wire with. They are like a U and you nail them in. I wouldn't do it that way again. It takes too long to run the wire through. Hooks would be easier (cup hooks) and then simply 'lace' it like hockey skates. Also when nailed in with pressure they back off a bit.
As far as installation goes I plan on using these like gobos and move them around. They are 5 inches wide and will stack quite well in the corners. I can use then to make a vocal iso booth or enclose a guitar cab. I'm going to experiment with them.
Thanks for your input. Is the reason that it is merely broadband because of the rating of the Mineral Fibre inside? (2PCF) - or is it the design?
Locally I can get min-Fib that's 2.5 PCF - I want to build bass traps for the corners but they can't be a permanent installation at this point. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot.
this is exactly how you build a canvas and EXACTLY the reason why if any of you paint/painted, I think using what you already have built exactly like this and loading it with Rockwool might help and be DIRT cheap. Also, the other SUPERCHUNK tutorial with pics has a great deal of attention seemingly devoted to the experimentation with plastics as a reflector of High frequencies. So what then is the big difference of using PAINTINGS with variable, but similarly-sized layers of dry latex or oil paint?!?!?!?! Certainly would be the aesthetic choice too am I right? Please give me your thoughts. I feel like this has so many benefits and it basically exactly this stuff anyway. But you are all more of experts than me, so I love hearing YOUR ideas.
