dont mean to be such a newbie but can u please assist me with your knowledge on this matter....

let me just give u these details:
ok im building a small vocal booth, 4' wide on each side & 8' tall. now it will be on the corner in my basement, so i already have two natural walls so to say. the floor is concrete with carpeting but no foam under it. also i have a drop ceiling.

Now i plan to build the walls with a lot of insulating in them. im currently looking for a solid door (hopefully wit a window) & im thinking of getting those door jambers that seals the bottom the door. im not going to get a window & decided to go with the camera in the room. now where the natural walls are there is a little indent, kinda like a self.

ok the questions,
How can i properly insulate this room?
what should i do with the control room which will basically be besides it?
what can i do for ventilation and still keep outside noise out?
what can i do for the ceilings?
will the floor be a problem?
any other input would help me out so damn much... plz help

It depends on how much isolation you think you need. what are you going to record??

what should i do with the control room which will basically be besides it?

that's a totally different story

what can i do for ventilation and still keep outside noise out?

mate - can you go to the SAE site and read up a bit??

http://www.saecollege.de/reference_material/index.html

could save us heaps -

on the other hand, if english isn't your 1st language please PM me direct and we'll sort it out. :)

cheers

ok i did some reading. sorry for all the bs questions i just didnt have a clue on building a iso room. Im going to build a double wall but i wanted to include the shelf in this pic. i was wondering if it is worth it to build on top of it (still maintaining the shelf/shape) a insulated wall. doube wall consisting of soundboard, drywall, sound barrier, drywall

I'd use the depth of the shelves for treatment like this:
