patch panel/wall box sound isolation?

I searched but could not find an answer. I am working on an odd project where I need to put a small custom patch panel or wall plate (only 2 XLR and one 1/4) onto a wall that is just one single panel of 3/4 inch plywood. It only needs to be XLR and 1/2 on one side and will be bare wire on the other.
Any suggestion about the best way to do this to reduce sound transmission though the wall plate from the other side of the wall?
As I am writing this I just thought: Is there any reason not to mount the XLR and 1/4 inch jacks directly into the wall?
Main main concern on the is sounds isolation.
