electric shocks - static charge + potential on rack

Hi!

Often, when i'm in my Homerecording studio (PVC floor), i get electric shocks, mostly when i'm wearing shoes. Additionally, there seems to be a potential on my Rack and my electric socket ground - perhaps these problems are two separate problems and the second one is created by faulty electrical wiring in the wall. The second problem becomes obvious when checking the Rack / electric socket ground / devices cases with a "Phasenprüfer" (a screw driver with integrated electrical checker). How can i find out the reason of these electrical shocks and how can i solve it? perhaps another floor in the room (for the statical shocks)?
I hope you understand my english ;-)

Are you just referring to static electricity? Or is mostly in the electrical?

If it's the electrical, first isolate and find where it may be coming from (piece of equipment or the connection at the wall). You might try unplugging each piece of equipment one at a time to see where it may be coming from. If that doesn't resolve it, check your wiring and grounding from the plug.
