fabric for panels (specific question)

*these questions are specifically for sound not protection from fibres, i also know about natfire.com -thanks
Hi ive read alot about fabrics on here but its not real clear to me.
I know it has to be breathable for higher frequencies, but almost all the fabric (cotton, muslin and etc.) is breathable. Some are more breathable then others but it seems to all breathe. Im on a real tight budget, so if its not a real big deal what kind it is as long as its not leather, then thatd be great.
The panels will be used for clouds and baffles on the wall in the live room and iso booth.
One other question, is it better to have a thicker material for bass traps or does it even matter.
Thanks- jalipaz
