KRK V6: a flaw in the design

3 years ago my, until then, trusty source at my music gear store, sold me a pair of KRK V6 monitors. I had reall wanted the V8's BUT he just would not and could not cut me a deal. These puppies cost me a bundle. I was happy I got them at the time but as with so many things, after a while the magic disappeared and I got curious. How the heall do these things get to put together? I blame my parents for letting me read the pictorial book "how does it work?" as a child. Ever since I have gotten a thirst for wanting to know how things are put together.
DO I like how these monitors sound?sure. do I know how they compare to others? no. One thing I do know: they have a gain adjuster on the back of each, a tiny hole through which you can out a tiny screw driver and thus adjust gain as needed. 2 problems with this design:
1: if you want to soffit mount them, u will have to do extra work if you want to easily gain access to the back.
2: more importantly, for what you pay for these monitors, I am sad to say that the actual dial piece is made of plastic and bends inward to the point where you no longer can adjust the gain.
the only option is to pop the front cone out and wiggle your arm into the cavity and try to on the blind touch bend it back so it lines up with the hole.
Have fun.
