Which recording software is the best? Which samplers do you prefer?

HI, and welcome; I moved your post to the Wombat Hole because that's probably the best fit; this site is mostly about BUILDING studios and acoustic space, not so much the gear. So you may not get much response on your question - there are better places to ask it, like

That said, I personally use Samplitude and have for years; I've yet to hear any software, including Pro Tools, that sounds as close to analog. It also has several features the other choices require plug-in's to do... Steve

It really depends on what you're doing, how your personal workflow is and how much you're planning on investing. I personally use Steinberg products like Nuendo and Cubase (they're the same, cubase just doesn't have some of the pro features needed for post by Nuendo users.)

Hello, MuSiCRoCkS!

Well, if you are new to software-based multitrack recorders, I really recommend you to work with Sonar (4.0.3 is the latest version)... I use it in all of my productions and am very happy with it.
It is so much easy-to-use than Cubase, Logic, ProTools or any other known soft; very intuitive.

But you must know that ALL audio softs have their pros an cons... and usually, what one has, the other doesn't, and viceversa...
There's no "better than", nowdays; there are just many options, and one suit your needs.

So it´s better for you to download the demos, try them, and decide.
