Pyramid & Wedge Foam in the USA

I found this company on eBay and got some great deals, I also bought some red & orange pyramid foam from that look really nice, and good service. They have a $50 prepaid freight policy, and the foam is vacuum packed and expands when you open the box - it was quite the cheap thrill!

I don't know what you mean by your comment...Did these guys do something wrong? I think most know that this foam is not for soundproofing, but more for controlling sound inside the space - am I correct? I really just thought it looked cool...

I see what you are saying - they misrepresent there products... Now that I know, is my 2" pyramid foam and corner bass blocker just for looks now?

Probably, but I'm not the expert on that. (Others here are, though, I'm sure.) I just happened to read that thread on the other forum this week, so it was fresh in my mind. Sorry we didn't catch you before you made the purchase.

Well, it does look cool, I guess I will hide any uneven drywall seams with it. I will write it of as learning experience and always check this site before I go shopping.

I'm glad I saw this. I was just going to order a bunch of foam from these guys. Is there anything else out there that is decent, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg like Auralex?

You could build some stuff from scratch using lumber and insulation -- there are a lot of threads on this forum that detail how to do that... For example,
don't miss this thread.
Not to disrespect Auralex... I just know you're on a pretty tight budget and that the space is pretty much for your own use.

If you want foam, Auralex is probably the best out there. It's certainly better than the cheap stuff a lot of people sell.
If you can't swing that price or want to DIY to save money or just don't want foam, investigate acoustical cotton or rigid fiberglass. Both can offer exceptional performance per thickness per square foot. For the higher densities, the fiberglass is cheaper. For the less dense materials (which can still work quite well with more thickness) the price difference drops significantly.
