Old Tannoy Reveals (Reds) vs New Tannoy Reveals (Also Red)

I saw that Tonnoy is either replacing or making a change to their passive Reveal monitors and was wondering if anyone has had the chance to A/B these two different versions.

The new version has a 6" "multi-fiber" driver vs the older 6.5" driver.

They've also switched to a titanium tweeter instead of a soft dome, and say that the HF response now goes up to 51kHz. I'm sure all the dogs on my block will appreciate that.

I know I've seen other posts where Barefoot has disparaged the use of metal alloys in drivers. Has anyone heard and been able to comare these two models side by side?

No, but I have a pair of older PBM 6.5's gathering dust because I hate every titanium tweeter that's ever "tweeted" me into a rage - give me a nice soft dome tweeter any day... Steve

have you had a chance to listen to the ribbon tweeters in speakers like the Adam brand monitors? quite a difference. Quite a sound.

Not yet, but would like to; been so buried for the last year I've not even gotten to a "drool store" once, much less to one with the REALLY fun toys  Maybe this year 8) Steve
