Slat Trap Gaps

Hi,
A quick question for the slat trap experts.
I'm about to build a slight adaption of the usual 703/705 fibreglass bass corner trap, as suggested by Arthur Noxon (head of ASC acoustics company) in his Nov 1991 article for dB magazine. Basically its the same as Ethan Winer's corner trap idea with the addition of the 'slat-trap' concept on the face to effectively back-scatter mids and highs (this is very important to me given that my room is already a little overdamped in the top end due to plush furnishings). My questions is: Does anyone know of any scientifically valid way of calculating the width of the slat gaps as well as the distance between each of the slat gaps ?? If the gaps are too small the trap will begin reflecting bass and if they are too large the trap will become a broadband absorber (I definitely do not want this).
Thanks,
SB
