Formulae

Hi
I am designing a studio by myself, i am trying to design it around as many formulae as i can.
i cannot find many on the web that are of PRACTICAL use. I have come across the good old reverberation time and nodal calculations and have written programs accordingly for these. can anybody link me to PRACTICAL formulae that give me an insight into how i need to think (although that would be conceptual wouldn't it?) well formulae that i can get some sort of use out of. My maths knowledge is limited. LODE's are fine PDE's are a problem.
