My control rom is rectangular, unfortunately!! I have purchased some 1 inch acoustic foam which I will be cutting 30cm by 30cm, leaving me with 16 pieces of faom!!

Whixh is the best way to spread the foam around the control room??

Cheers

Your best bet would be to make some comfy chairs out of that foam, and read what you really need to know, here:
http://www.saecollege.de/reference_material/index.html

That way, you can make some REAL acoustic treatment.

As we know , foam is not the best acoustical treatment available (at some frequencies it might even be) but I wouldn't go and throw some expensive acoustic foam into a chair. There's cheap foam for those purposes  ...
Your purchased foam can still be used as acoustical treatment. It won't cover a whole lot of frequencies, but it will be effective at high mid and high frequencies...
good luck

Gavin - go to the SAE site - http://www.saecollege.de/reference_material/index.html

and click on acoustics then reverberation and go to the room reverberation calculator. Put in the dimensions of your room (as close as pos) and select gypsum board for your walls and whatever floor you have.

You can now check the verbtime for all the frequency bands. Now add the 4' x 4' (that's 16 x 1' x 1' sheets) for one of the walls and select heavy drapes as your treatment. (as close as it gets to foam) Now check the change it makes to your room.

I already placed ten panels of this(http://www.termo.si/en/tervol.asp?f=/en ... trija5.htm) rockwool (with black glassfibre tisssue) in the ceiling-to sidewall corners.

Now I need some stuff for the early reflections on the sidewalls.

The acustical foam seems much more easy to place than rockwool panels, so I'm looking at something like this:
http://www.plama-pur.si/datoteke/Plamafon.pdf. The n.4 on the chart/graph.

Would some 5cm rockwool instead of that foam be better?
It's half cheaper, but also quite difficult to attach to the walls.
