Roof reflections with carpet floor?

Now have a carpet floor, is it still wise to treat the ceiling? Wouldnt a first reflection still mess with your sound even though there is a carpet floor?
My guess is that carpet will help buildup of standing waves between floor and roof, but you will still have first reflection coming from the roof. Correct?
