That elusive soundstage...

One thing has always eluded me in the various rooms I have set up in. Even with treatment for RFZ (except for first reflection from the roof as I have had carpet), I have never been able to get that clear imaging in terms of sounds panned centre really seeming to sit inbetween the speakers.

Maybe its the Tannoy Reveals, not the best monitors by far. I also think it may be because I space em only a few feet apart and pointing directly straight ahead, or pointing behind me as it were. I am going to change this.

I have heard incredible imaging in the type of rooms im talking about, which are your normal bedroom variety. I must admit though, with the speakers set up a little differently to mine, and they were quite high end jobs.

Anyone use the Reveals around here? Mainly though, I am just curious as to if many people are able to get that clear defined soundstage using average monitors in small rooms...

Ive used KRK passives (K-Roks) and Tannoy PBM 6.5's with good success in smaller rooms - didn't care for the titanium tweets in the Tannoys, but didn't have either pair facing square to the room either... Steve
