There's stargrounding, balanced powersystems, filters with rebuilding of sine waves. You should use different phases for ac, lights, equipment.
How to power up down? Not use variacs or light tubes.Run current cables away from signal cables.

I do understand why this is all good practices. But how would you build a complete system for a small studio? Would you use it all?

Any thoughts?

Hello Toby,

Sorry for the delay. Been a busy day. :)
But how would you build a complete system for a small studio? Would you use it all?
I guess the bottom line is, what are your requirements? It's a mighty vague question. :?

It also depends on if you're doing this as a project studio in an existing structure such as a home, or if you're building this from the ground up.

I will assume, that your comment of a small studio will be in reference to a "Home Studio" scenario?

The other main factor is "Budget".

:D

Well, lets say a small commercial studio. Mac with protools, analog desk, a buch of micpres, e.q:s, compressors, fxunits, lights and ac/heating.

Is balanced power systems often combined with stargrounding and power filtering?

That's what Equi-Tech recommends on their site. You can order their wall panel system with extra filtering and they talk allot about isolated grounding. They have an article on there about budget technical system: http://www.equitech.com/support/tpb.html
