Video series on constructing Edgetone Studios

John Sayers designed my studio in March of 2020. I think that it may have been the last studio he designed. I was a couple months away from completing the build when John died, so he never got to see the final version.

I'm currently documenting the build process in a series of YouTube videos. I thought it only appropriate that I share it here. The first part is available now: How I Built a Recording Studio Addition (Part 1).

I hope some of you find this useful.

I just want to say additionally that your story is so remarkably close to my own. I built my first studio in a townhouse my wife and I bought together thinking we would be there a long time. It was fully soundproofed etc, then we had a few kids and needed an upgrade. We sold that place and moved into our current home. That was 13 years ago. Im now targeting 55 as retirement from my own career in software and building my "forever studio" on my property to be my side hustle for my golden years.

I love it. Anything can happen, you have to do what you can do when you can do it. Don't wait to be happy. Thats my motto.

Part 2 is up, but now you're missing part 3. ;-)

Editing these is tedious, so part 3 will be done next week.

Indeed it was, but so worth it.

We need a "Thumbs up" button for posts on this forum. ;-)
