Laminated planks...how should they be installed?

I plan on having a laminated floor in the control room as it will keep the cost down.
Does it matter how the planks are installed, or is there a certain method due to sound, etc...?
Thanks!

it's effectively a hard reflecting surface, so no difference there really, however you want to make sure it's fully in contact with the floor to avoid any possible resonances.

Thanks Glenn. Is a rug at the listening position a good idea, something around 8 x 10?

rugs can be useful but also may impact some of the room response. they're also sometimes painful when you have a rolling chair (for example). thing is to try it once you have the room completed and see how it works for you. if there is no discernable negative impact to the room acoustics, and it has the aesthetics you like, no is tripping over it or getting their chair stuck, then its all good.
