Is the 38% listening position from the front wall still the optimum position or has that changed? My room is 22' x 20.5'.
Thanks!

It's a good starting point, but should be confirmed with room measuring

Paul,
Could you please elaborate on room measuring?
Thanks!

Big Room, lucky you. Is it a Control Room, Home Theatre, Cock Fighting Venue?
Anywhere is good to start measuring. But 38% was derived in a hypothetically fully reflective concrete space with Flush Mounted Speakers.
Time, changes and developments mean that Stuarts guide to REW is a bit iffy........
The UMIK-1 is a great choice. It is a 1 Channel USB device so SoundCard Calibration or Loopback are Moot.
iApps are better than cheap SLMs now.

A Cock Fighting Venue sounds like fun, but I'm sure the misses would not approve.
It's a Control Room. 38% seems about right for the room. I'll start there. I have a set of Amphion Two18 with BaseOne25, and on the desk, I'll have a set of Two15 and Avantone's. I'll be sitting those on a AZ Studio Workstation Oxford, custom made white top with black legs.
I have the Sonarworks measuring mic which I used in a previous studio, and works very well. In a room that size, I'm hoping I don't have to use the SoundID app, which is pretty amazing in itself. The room will be fully treated with TubeTraps and 244's from GIK.
