I would save the extreme depth for that axis. Have you tested the response of this room?

Okay so if I understand correctly you basically just fill the entire space/cavity with fluffy insulation? I put this in SoundFlow and Acoustic Modelling, they both give quite differing results - I would like to believe soundFlow because it suits me perfectly.

we only have one manufacturer that I know of here isover/saint gobain - they do a product called Aerolite - the data sheets show a 11kg/m2 density but there is no information on the gas flow resistivity specification. I have called them and I am trying to find this out to better model this. I guess it will be between 3-5kPa*sm/2

Its a long story but I have tested the room leading up to now, but the person who was helping me had the mic and was doing it - it turns out his gain staging and things have been wrong so I ended up getting my own mic and SPL meter and have tested the room with what ever is in there now - I want to empty the room this coming weekend and test it with the speaker in the corner and the mic in the opposite corner. the current state of the room mdats can be found here (i keep having trouble attaching them) https://www.sendspace.com/filegroup/rqm ... Best to include where you are on your visible profile. I will assume South Africa. Googling finds Isotherm Polyester and Ecose similar to Boggy's https://www.homeinsulations.co.za/insul ... cts/knauf/

Indeed, I have updated it now. Wow, I had been searching for alternatives but came up with nothing - perhaps you used particular brand names - anyway, thanks for this, I really appreciate that. I've been in contact with them to see if they know what the GFR is for their products are, they said they will try see and get back to me. I guess somewhere between 3-5.5Kpa but good to know anyway.
