STC & OITC ratings of exterior glass windows

Post by Elusive Sounds »

Hi everyone,

A local glass supplier just sent me this document published by Viracon that provides STC and OITC specifications for different combinations and thickness of single pane, double pane, triple pane and laminated glass panes in exterior windows.

Though my supplier does not use Viracon glass, they tell me they can build similar window assemblies according to these specifications. Maybe your local supplier could do the same.

If you are looking into external windows, this is a great resource and is the first such document I've found.

Cheers,
Marc

Very cool. Thanks for sharing.

For windows, if you're doing a room in a room, you're going to need glass in each leaf. That is where you should have 1 pane of glass in each leaf. Of course each one would have PVB in them.

It appears that you've made the mistake most people do. You started building without consulting this forum.
