DIY Vocal Booth

Post by MSR74 »

I would like to build a small semi-permanent vocal booth in a corner of a bedroom. I am not working with much space. The booth will be roughly 3.5 ft x 4.5 ft.

I will be doing home demos. If I need a better sounding recording, I will likely do so in a studio.

The walls will be perpendicular in a rectangle and the ceiling slightly pitched. I would like to do my best to keep it from sounding like a closet, but I know my hands will be somewhat tied.

I am thinking Iwould use 4" OC703 to help with reflections on all hard surfaces along with the potential of a simple slat diffuser or a space coupler on one or more walls? Would either of the latter two be remotely effective at providing the slightest benefit?

Thanks in advance for your responses and please be kind... :horse: :yahoo:

Here's a thread that you might find interesting, complete with a full design, in SketchUp...

That should get you on the right track! :)
