Slat type resonator materials

Constructing a false wall space to use as a helmholtz type, slat fronted radiator. The rub is that I live in Mexico, in an area where termites are a MAJOR concern. Working around that is most respects, but could use some advice on the material for the slats themselves. NO wood allowed. Thanks in advance for your advice.
