Control Room Construction

Hi!
I have plans to build a studio (at least a Control/Mixing Room), in a small village with no traffic close to the building.
I would like to spend at most $25.000 for the foundation and material included absorbers and things inside. I will get help from a carpenter so the work is not included.
One option is to extend the house as a basement and build it under groundlevel so I dont need to pay for the exterior/outer walls and roof.
I have read alot about ratios and such, but could you give me more advices on things i need to be aware of and take into account? (Volume, Angles and so on...)
Should I build it rectangular after the ratios and modify the room with basstraps, absorbers and diffusers or should I build it with other angles also than just a 90* rectangular room angles?
Thanks!
