Hey guys! New to the site but I've been a long time lurker. I'm finally going to be redoing my studio and would love to get your opinion. I work here full time and in a few weeks I'll have a month off before my next project so the plan is to get it done then. I rent larger studios for drums and do the rest of the tracking and mixing here. Because I'm mostly mixing isolation is not a huge concern. I'm on about 2 acres of land so even when micing loud guitar cabs there's no real issue with neighbors or being too loud. I would like to replace the existing drop ceiling with actual drywall on resilient channels to help when tracking loud vocalist in the CR late at night.

It's a 950 sq. ft basement that consist of a control room and the rest is living quarters for the band. Most of the work will be put in the CR but I will have to set aside some of the budget for floors and ceiling throughout the rest.

Budget: $6k

Overall goal: Create a comfortable space for bands to chill as well as improve the aesthetic and acoustics of my current control room.

Here are photos of the current control room as well as skethup of the entire layout and new control room design.

First 2 are a little dark but thats the CR currently. The next are from when I first moved into the house. You'll see the existing closet in front of the desk that I'll knock out and the weird cubby whole there to the left I'll cover up. I also plan to remove the drop ceiling and place actual drywall throughout.
Last few photos are of the future design I'm planning to build. I don't know a lot so most of this design was built just mimicking what I've seen. Basically the goal is to have the existing rectangle room and build the slated angel walls into it. Let me know of any red flags you may see! I'll also include some test of the room with the acoustics in it now to get an idea.

Dimensions: In feet 19'L, 10.5'W and 7.8'H(to bottom of sub floor)
