Drum practice studio: positioning

Post by badass_mcfunk »

Hi

I'm nearing completion of my new studio build (forum post - http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=19922) and my thoughts are now turning to what gets positioned where to improve acoustics.

I have 150 auralex foam square pads, which I'm planning to apply to the walls in stripes (which will help to hide some of the imperfections between plasterboard joints), and on the ceiling. Other than that, I have a large mirror, a window, wooden door and all wall surfaces are plasterboard. The floor is a laminate.

Any particular thoughts on how I can position the foam pads to best effect would be appreciated.
