Seeking Studio Design Insight & Help

Hi all,

I'm brand new to this forum and I thought joining might help generate some insight and advice on how to approach designing my studio space.
Within the last couple years I've moved from the greater Boston area to a house in the suburbs where I'm slowly beginning to design and build my home studio.

Unfortunately as I'm aware, square rooms are not a good shape for most studio spaces and I would love some ideas or suggestions on what I might be able to do to make this room work. It's a large room (23 x 23 ft.) situated above my garage and has cathedral-sized (10 ft.) ceilings. I'm looking to renovate into what I hope to be a very professionally studio space. Most of what I produce and record focuses more on the digital/electronic side of music production, however I do want to leave the door open for the possibility of recording live instruments, drums, guitar, vox and such.

My hope and goal is to build out a smaller room at the head of this one for live recording/tracking - And then of course having the control/mix room next to it.
Since this has been an ongoing project, I've been reading numerous books, researching like mad and trying to gather as much knowledge as I possibly can.

I feel confident in knowing what would be necessary to treat the rooms, but I'm puzzled the most on the dimensions and size. - And not knowing the best way to use and shape the room, divide the space, and build 2 separate rooms.
At this point anything is worth a shot, which is why I thought I might reach out and gather some professional expertise and thoughts on what I could do to shape, divide, treat and modify this room, for it to be a professional space.
