I am getting to point in my studio build where I am putting in the doors. I have some left over resilient channel and that gave me and idea. I am going to build doors out of a 2x4' frame with 2 layers of 3/8" plywood one one side and resilient channel then 2 layers of 3/8" plywood on the other. Fiberglass in the middle. Use a heavy duty handle to open them and heavy duty spring hinges to keep them shut. Does anyone see any flaws in my plan? I think they would give better isolation that a standard heavy acoustic door right?

Assuming that you will be using two doors back-to-back, one in each leaf, which is the normal practice, then building those doors as you describe them would create a 4-leaf system, which is pretty bad for low frequency isolation.

The normal method is to make the doors solid-core, built up from several layers of solid building materials, such as MDF, plywood, OSB, drywll, etc.

I'm only using one door and connecting leafs at the door jambs. I figured if I only used one door with 2 layers of plywood on one side insulation in the middle and resilient channel on the other and then two another layers of plywood would work
