Just bought a new house and need to put in a studio for song construction and design. I work with gospel / Contemporary Christian artist and would like to get the best possibilities in this design phase.

I have attached some pics for you to see and the dimensions.

Floor is concrete slab.
Ceiling height is 8 ft to bottom of floor joist above
Floor joist above is 1 foot deep to subfloor of above room which is the living room in the house

Would run havoc system through this which would be a separate HVAC system

Need to redo stairs for structural support but use the underneath as part of the vocal booth

I am thinking a room within a room. Walls that you would see in the pics are Solid Concrete blocks
Drainage system on walls is to ensure the basement does not leak water - so it is very dry.

Black poles are where I stop for wall. Nothing is on the other side of that proposed wall. However later plans are to have a kids entertainment room for their friends?

I have a blank canvas.

hey there Curere, looks like a good room to start with as far as isolation goes, being a basment (with a few of it's own special problems).

have you got an measurement for how much isolation you need from the house above you and have you got an estimate of budget?

It;s hard to give you details without that information.
