John Sayers' Recording Studio Design Forum Archive

Hi guys, I'm a new user, and currently familiarising myself with forum rules etc, so don't expect an answer just yet. But a quick question, as I prepare my diagrams, etc, for this thread.... I note that you use the Google product and Smartdraw, but these exceed my budget. Are you happy for studio plans to be constructed using other software, and simply posted as a .png, .gif, etc?

Hi there Gazza, and Welcome!

Most of us use SketchUp these days, which is free! That's about the only free thing that you'll find while designing your studio, so make the most of it. SketchUp will take you a little while to learn, as some of the concepts aren't intuitive, but once you get the hang of it, you'll find it is ideal for studio design, and very powerful.
