Hi people, I just want to check what you guys think about this idea.
Those shelves that you see in the room were full of books, I was about to disassemble but then i thought I could use it as frames for bass/broadband absorbers..

They are about 7" deep, so I would use 4" fiber glass and leave the other 3" as space behind...
What do you think about this idea... ??

This is the room for mixing and monitoring, I pretend to do professional mixing here, so any recommendations welcome,

the room 13' 3" x 11' x 9' (there is a sketch pic there), (the one that says "Studio" s the room we are talking about..

Maybe it's just that you are being a bit impatient? There are not many active moderators right now, nor many other people helping out with answering questions, so there's a long line of threads awaiting response. We are all volunteers here, doing the best we can to help out as much as possible (for free!) but as there are so few of us, and so many questions, it can take a while to get a reply. I have a line of about 34 threads ahead of yours that I need to reply to. Maybe someone else will get to it sooner. If you need faster answers, then maybe you should just hire a studio designer to do this for you.

You are not doing anything wrong! And you are not in the wrong place! It's just that there are too few helpers and many, many members asking things at the same time.

They probably won't do much as bass traps, except for the parts in the room corners, but they might be doing something as diffusers. However, the only real way to tell what they are doing for sure, is to do an acoustic analysis with REW, and see if you can figure out from the results if they are serving any useful purpose.

On the other hand, they do look rather nice, so it would probably be worthwhile trying to use them. Also, since this is a live room (not a control room), part of the idea is that the room has some sort of "vibe" and "character" that makes it attractive, both acoustically and visually. Control rooms are supposed to be neutral, but live rooms can be any way you want them to be (within reason!). so the question here is; how does the room SOUND like it is right now? Do you like it? Are there any issues that you don't like? Can they be treated? So the bottom line is basically this: if it works, and the room sounds good, with a nice acoustic character to it, and instruments record well in there, then go for it!
